The Craft Catalyst Club

The Craft Catalyst Club was developed as a response to the Coronavirus outbreak and lockdown. We wanted to create a way for the people in South Holland to cope with lockdown. Working in conjunction with Transported Art, we designed a way to prescribe craft kits, making them personal to each person. These were posted out to participants with instructions that were printed out, so not being online didn't stop people from joining. We also ran a weekly zoom craft club and phone support to help talk through any problems. The kit also contained a zine with a range of information and an artist focus on an artist that was working in the same area as their craft kit. We also ran alongside this within the same project, community postcards. A kit was received through the post to create a postcard through the combination of printing, felt making and embroidery.
